So many news to catch up on … we have been very busy!
MILESTONE 50
While we definitely focus on quality rather than quantity for adoptions in a small rescue like Blue Moon, it did give us some pleasure to note that Theo’s recent adoption marked our 50th adoption in the time we have been on the Internet – I never counted them in the 20 years before we “modernized” Fifty beautiful and deserving dogs who would have died without rescue, and without the financial and practical help of persons like you. On behalf of all these wonderful “pups” we thank you most sincerely!
SAMMY NEEDS YOUR HELP
Sammy is a very sweet boy with an extremely sad history… but we can give him a brighter future with your help. Please see his profile and help if you can. Any amount, big or small, will help get him the care he needs.
NEW! Donations for Sammy can now be delivered to Severson Cleaners at 68 William Street in Brockville! Thank you to the Severson family for their support!
NEW! To make a tax deductible donation, please make cheques payable to Helping Homeless Pets (What is that? Details below) Of course, you can also donate via Paypal as before.
BLUEBELL ALSO NEEDS YOUR HELP
Bluebell breaks our hearts … neglected her whole life, this sweetest of girls may be the first dog we are not able to cure. Please read her profile and help us get her the biopsy that will tell us what we can do to make her comfortable for whatever time she has with us, be it a few months or many years… We hope and pray for the latter result… we love you, sweet Bluebell!
DONATIONS CAN NOW BE TAX DEDUCTIBLE IN CANADA!

WE NEED A FOSTER HOME COORDINATOR
Blue Moon has several heavy duty medical cases right now that require a lot of fund raising… We have also lost several foster homes because they fell in love with their foster dog and adopted him/her, moved away, or are going back to school soon. We need someone who can help with recruiting, screening and helping foster homes so we can take new dogs into our program.
What does a foster coordinator do? What kind of person would enjoy that particular challenge? If you are intrigued and want to know more, stay tuned, we will post a “job description” as soon as time permits… hopefully sometime this week. If you have done it before, don’t be shy, go ahead and contact us now :0)
and last but definitely not least…
THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Until now, Blue Moon Rescue had pretty well always been a one-woman show, but I am very happy to say that this year several wonderful volunteers have stepped up to help and working with them has been stimulating and very rewarding. Whether they are fostering a dog, helping with training, planning benefits, or helping organize our work, I hope they know how deeply grateful I am for their assistance and their great love for and steadfast loyalty to our fabulous and oh-so-deserving dogs. Aroooo! You are the best!!
